NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at the consolidated election to be held on Tuesday, the 4th day of April, 2017, the following proposition will be submitted to the voters of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Illinois:

 

                POR EL PRESENTE SE COMUNICA que en la elección consolidada que se celebrará el Martes día 4 de abril de 2017, se presentarán las siguientes propuestas a los votantes del Distrito de Reserva Forestal del Condado de Kane, Illinois:

 

PROPOSITION TO ISSUE $50,000,000.00 GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE FOREST PRESERVE DISTRICT OF KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS

 

PROPUESTA PARA EMITIR BONOS DE OBLIGACIÓN GENERAL POR $50,000,000.00 DEL DISTRITO DE RESERVA FORESTAL DEL CONDADO DE KANE, ILLINOIS

 

Shall the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Illinois, borrow money and issue general obligation bonds in the amount of $50,000,000.00 to acquire and preserve forests and natural lands, protect wildlife habitats, enhance flood control, improve hiking and biking trails and fishing and other recreational areas, provide forest and wildlife education programs and improve forest preserves, wetlands and prairies, all in accordance with the purposes authorized by the Downstate Forest Preserve District Act of the State of Illinois, as amended?

 

The approximate impact of the proposed increase on the owner of a single-family home having a market value of $250,000 would be $22 in the first year of the increase if the increase is fully implemented.

 

¿Deberá el Distrito de Reserva Forestal del Condado de Kane, Illinois, tomar prestado dinero y emitir bonos de obligación general por un monto de $50,000,000.00 para adquirir y preservar bosques y tierras naturales, proteger la vida silvestre, incrementar el control de inundaciones, mejorar los caminos para senderismo y ciclismo, así como las áreas de pesca y otras áreas recreativas, ofrecer programas de educación sobre los bosques y la vida silvestre, mejorar las reservas forestales, los pantanos y las praderas, todo esto de conformidad con los propósitos autorizados por la Ley del Distrito de Reserva Forestal del Sur del Estado de Illinois y sus enmiendas?

Assistance may be rendered to those voters qualifying after the appropriate affidavits have been completed.

Notice to Eldery and Disabled Voters

Official notice is hereby given that at the General Election to be held on November 8th, 2016, in election precincts under the jurisdiction of the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of Aurora, electronic voting machines will be available for the elderly and disabled voters. The electronic voting machines will also be available in the Aurora Election Commission office for absentee and early (in-person) voting as well as the Eola Library. Formal assistance may be rendered to those voters qualifying after the appropriate affidavits have been completed.

Notice New Voting Age for General Primary Election

Official notice is hereby given that an individual who is 17 years old on the date of a primary election and who is otherwise qualified to vote is qualified to vote at that primary, including voting an absentee, grace period, or early voting ballot with respect to that primary, if that person will be 18 years old on the date of the immediatley following general election.  An individual who is 17 years of age and who will be 18 years of age on the date of the general election shall be deemed competent to execute and attest to any voter registration forms. This is created by the Public Act 098-0051.

Notice is hereby given that on December 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Office of the Aurora Election Commission, as the Local Election Official in and for the City of Aurora, that a Lottery will be held at 323 Galena Blvd., Aurora, Illinois, to determine Ballot placement for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 7, 2015. The Lottery will be held for any Offices and Candidates who simultaneously file their Nominating Papers at 8:00 a.m on December 15, 2014, the first day for filing. Any Candidate eligible for participation in the Lottery is welcome to attend or, in the alternative, a representative of said Candidate may participate in the Lottery. Filing for School Board Candidate: December 15, 2014 – Through Monday December 22, 2014

First Day of Filing: To qualify for first filer, must be in line at 8:00 am in Aurora Election Commission Office.

School Board Candidates: Must file at the Aurora Election Commission Office If the Home office of the School District is located in the City of Aurora, Kane, Kendall, or Will County. All school board candidates for any school located in DuPage County, must file with DuPage County.

Potential Candidates: The following forms, which are prescribed by Illinois Law and/or required by the State Board of Elections

  1. Data Entry Card* (for AEC office use only) Complete the appropriate sections but do not bind with the petition. May be completed immediately after filing, before leaving the office.
  2. Statement of Candidacy*
  3. Nominating Petitions*
  4. Statement of Economic Interests: A receipt indicating that the Statement has been filed with the County Clerk of the County in which the Principal Office of the School District is located. Must be filed no later than 5:00 pm on the last day to file.
  5. Loyalty Oath : This is an optional requirement
  6. Notice to Candidates who have Changed Names P.A. 94-1090, effective June 1, 2007 mandates certain action by candidates who have changed names within three years before the last day for filing petitions. Refer to form SBE No. P-28
  7. Code of Fair Campaign Practices: This is an optional requirement If you plan to file this statement, DO NOT bind this document with your petition.
  8. Certificate of Deletions In order to delete signatures, file form SBE P-2A. Only the person circulating the petition, or the candidate on whose behalf the petition is circulated, may strike any signature from the Petition. If this certificate(s) is included with the petition, please place at the end of the petition.

Notice Last day of filing for the 2015 Consolidated Primary Election For the City of Aurora Municipal Election

The last day to file a petition for the 2015 Consolidated Primary Election is Monday November 24, 2014 by 5:00 pm.

Any Candidate who files in the last hour of the last day, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm, will be placed in a lottery for the last position on the ballot. A Lottery will only be conducted if there are two (2) or more filers in the last hour for the same race.

A Petition is deemed filed when the paperwork required has been completely filed and at time of receipt given to Candidate. Any Petition completed after 5:00 pm on November 24, 2014 will be deemed as filed late. The clock on the Commission wall at the Counter will be used for the time filed.

The lottery for the last position on the ballot will be conducted on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 immediately following the lottery for First Filers. First Filer lottery will be conducted on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at 10:30 am in the Aurora Election Commission Office

CANDIDATE PRIMER TRAINING

The Aurora Election Commission will host a 2015 Candidate Petition Training Session at 6:00 pm on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at the Election Commission Office, located at 323 W. Galena Blvd., Aurora.  The Presenter will be Attorney Patrick K. Bond, of Bond*Dickson and Associates.

Training will include guidelines on completing filing paperwork; requirements for offices; update on new legislation and candidate packets will be available at this time.  Information will be provided for all offices up for election in the 2015 election cycle from local precinct committeemen to County/State wide office. 

If you are considering running for any office or working on a campaign, come to this training, this training will help you through the process and assist in any questions you may have relating to the process of running for office.
